At Churchill Security, our Virtues of Humility, Passion and People First are more than just buzzwords; they help guide us in everything we do.

We recognise that we’re all responsible for protecting the environment around us.

From the way we operate as a business, to the way we treat our customers, our Virtues truly make Churchill Security a company that cares and a company that everyone wants to work for.

Our Churchill ethos frequently empowers and inspires us to go above and beyond. We’re proud that our employees are actively involved with charity projects and initiatives across the community, and that they’ll always find support here at Churchill. Indeed, as a company, we’re committed to giving back to the community and the world around us, whether that’s through charity projects or doing our bit for the environment.

Here at Churchill Security, we recognise that we’re all responsible for protecting the environment around us. As a business, we’re always looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint, produce less waste and promote sustainability among our staff. In this blog, we’ll be running through some changes Churchill has made to go greener over the past few years.

Going digital? Less paper

At Churchill Security, we’ve gone digital, ditching traditional paperwork in favour of digital documents and electronic signatures. By keeping all our HR paperwork, contracts, and collateral online, we’ve managed to significantly reduce the amount of paper that both we, and our clients, use on a daily basis. By centralising our all-important documents in one place, our employees always have access to the information they need, when they need it, all whilst eliminating paper printing. Over the course of a year, this all adds up, reducing the overall resources that Churchill uses, as well as our overall carbon footprint as a business.

Working from home? Lower carbon emissions

Using the power of the Internet and collaborative platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Churchill Security has been empowering office-based employees to work from home during the coronavirus pandemic and both the national and regional lockdowns. Whilst remote working has its positives and negatives, working from home has certainly reduced the amount of Churchill employees commuting to and from work, lowering carbon emissions in the process. As restrictions slowly start to lift, we plan to keep flexible and home working options available for staff, so we can continue to make savings on carbon emissions going forward.

Community work? More trees!

Churchill Security are always looking for ways to give back to our community and to make a positive difference for the planet. Our latest community project involved planting 100 trees with the help of the Woodland Trust. To further support the great work they do for our community and environment, we also made a generous donation to help them plant a further 400 trees across various community projects. When more restrictions lift, we hope to all get back out there and plant more trees as a team.

These are just the first few steps on our journey towards a greener Churchill. As the year progresses, we hope to continue implementing initiatives and technology that help us to do our bit for the planet. That’s Churchill’s green commitment.
