Andy Farley, Luke Toker and John Melling are riding for Children with Cancer UK.

In 2020, Andy Farley, Churchill Security Operations Director, raised over £1000 for the Alzheimer’s Society by getting on his bike and cycling around like a lunatic. Not to be outdone, Luke Toker, National Operations Manager and John Melling, Company Director, are joining in this year to raise money for an extremely worthy cause – Children with Cancer UK, Churchills charity partner for this year.

Every day more than 12 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer in the UK.

Children with Cancer UK actively raise and invest money for vital specialist research to save the lives of every child with cancer and keep their family together. Their vision is a world where every child diagnosed with cancer gets to ring their end of cancer treatment bell.

Andy is encouraging those that can, to donate and help achieve their target of £5000. Additionally, sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses to have their names on the riders shirts.

While Cancer is a serious issue, Andy, Luke and John are encouraging anyone and everyone to come forward and supportwhat will be a very comical attempt to ride from west to east coast. At just over 100 miles to cover in 3 days, everyone is hoping they at least get through day 1 unscathed.

‘Covid is bringing everyone down so let’s cheer up and get focused on something fun and believe me watching us three trying to cycle up a hill in Cumbria in lycra is about as funny as it gets !!!’ Andy Farley

To save children’s lives, research is essential. Childhood cancers are different from adult cancers and need their own research. Most childhood cancers are unique to children.

‘At Children with Cancer UK, we want to find safer, more effective treatments for all young patients. Cancer is still the most common medical cause of death in children and young people. Our focus as a children’s cancer charity is to fund visionary research and bring the breakthroughs that will bring hope to children and their families.’

‘I have set up a just giving page and if you can share the hell out of the page with friends, family, colleagues, customers etc we would be most grateful..’ Andy Farley
